The Little Black Box currently has more than 1500 people on our mailing list, more than 1200 followers on Twitter, and more than 600 followers on Facebook, and all of these numbers are growing every day. And all of these folks LOVE Handmade and want to be introduced to new Handmade businesses!

Typically, The Little Black Box sells about 100 Boxes each month, and up to 300 or more during the Holiday Season. We have 3 Holiday Boxes: October and November Boxes are promoted as great ways to "meet" new Handmade businesses and start your Holiday shopping, while our December Boxes are promoted as amazing gifts for those who love Handmade! Also, our Boxes usually have 12-15 samples in them, with even more during the Holiday Season!

The Little Black Box began as The Fresh Baked Samples boxes on Wickedly Chic by Amy Jagminas in October 2005. Originally, they were sold quarterly. They became increasingly popular, and Amy felt they needed their own site designed exclusively for them. And that is when The Little Black Box was born.

After over two years of owning and operating the The Little Black Box exclusively, Amy sold the site to Kimberlee Keane in April 2007. Kim was also an online retailer and chose to keep the business true to Amy's original dream, and focused mostly bath, body, and candle items.

The Little Black Box expanded to include all things handmade in June 2008. With that change also came the change of switching out the boxes to bags, as they were lighter and considered to be less wasteful.

In July 2010, The Little Black Box was sold again, this time to the daughter and mother team of Milly and Joan Roland. Milly has had a shop on Etsy (Thistlecraft) since 2006 and has been crafting for more than 35 years, thanks to her Mom! Joan has had her own craft business, Seemingly Olde Stuff, for about 17 years and has been crafting for more than 60 years. Milly & Joan do not specialize in any one particular craft but have enjoyed the challenge of perfecting many craft skills over the years. They are definitely no strangers to the world of Handmade, whether from the creative, business, or consumer points-of-view. They are incredibly excited to be taking over The Little Black Box and are looking forward to helping this wonderful service continue to grow and thrive for many years to come. They also hope to provide the best service and support possible to all of their customers, both Box buyers and contributors!

Here's to a great new adventure!
